Happy Halloween!!

Obi Wan Kenobi made a stop at our house last night to showcase his Jedi Master skills...pretty impressive!

Then he and our resident colonial girl headed out to gather some candy!

2 1/2 hours and several bags of candy later, they returned home...satisfied that they had hit every house in walking distance!  You gotta love kids...they can walk 5 miles for candy, but can't seem to walk from the car to the front door of the house sometimes!

I think I'm going to regurgitate!

Says the boy child as he comes out the of bathroom at Tom Thumb this morning.  The ensuing conversation went something like this:

Mommy:  Why?  Are you sick??  (thinking the flu has returned...placing hand on forehead to check for fever)

Owen:  (making gagging motions, holding stomach)  No...it just smelled so BAD in there!!

Mommy:  (pulling back comforting hand...cautiously waiting for the rest of the story)  Did you make it smell bad?  Do you have an upset stomach?

Owen:  (more gagging motions)  NO!  There were some old men in there and they were making a stink!

Mommy:  How did you know they were old men?

Owen:  (exasperated) By their shoes, Mommy.  They had old man shoes.

Mommy:  Hmmmm...(pushing cart out the door, pondering this response)

Owen:  Mommy...old men sure do stink.

Mommy:  Well so do little boys...

Well, there you have it.  The "old men" in the bathroom stink.  I still haven't clarified what "old man shoes" look like...perhaps I am a little afraid of the response.  I am kind of impressed at his correct use of regurgitate, though.  What a boy!

Alfredo Pigeon...really???

As we were heading home last night from the Funky Monkey Bunch show at church, we saw a group of pigeons (I know, a group of birds is technically a flock, but this was only 4-5 birds, so...). We were sitting at a stoplight and Owen noticed the birds. Most were gray, but there was one that was white. Now, what does my creative guy call out???

"Hey Mommy! Look! There is an alfredo pigeon!"

Seriously...where does he get this stuff? I laughed so hard I think the drivers around me were concerned I was having some sort of serious medical issue.

Oh the things I hear around my house...:-)

Toothless

Owen has lost his first tooth...

well, actually, he had his first tooth pulled! He has had a wiggly tooth for about a week or so and the nurse at school, I guess, had enough of the wiggly tooth drama and yanked the sucker! He was very excited and was even more pumped when he got 4 quarters and a penny from the Tooth Fairy! He has had that money in his pocket for days! Now he is wiggling all the others "just in case they want to come out". Too funny!

"Swan" flu

OK, so when I picked up Owen from Stephanie's this afternoon, she shared a funny story about the boy child. Evidently when he gets to her house each day, she has him wash his hands. I am guessing that is for germs and other assorted boy-funk. So today he is washing his hands and he looks at her with his serious "professor" face and says "Yes, Stephie, it is important to wash your hands. We don't want to get the swan flu." She maintains as straight face as she concurs with this statement. He is so funny sometimes!!

FC Dallas practice

Owen and Daddy had the chance to watch the players from FC Dallas conduct a practice at the soccer field near our house. They watched all the drills and a mini game and then were able to get autographs from all the players. I don't know who all these guys are, but they couldn't have been nicer and Owen is STILL talking about it!

Piano recital

Our musical girl had her second piano recital on Sunday afternoon. She played beautifully and conducted herself like the little lady she is becoming. Her daddy and I couldn't be prouder of her and her musical ability!!
